Let me state this nicely – it was a flop of a show, worst of the year by far, and one of the worst of all time. It was nothing more than a scammer trying to take advantage of the import community. The promoter advertised a concert with Gucci Mane – and told people who had just paid and entered the door at 6pm that Gucci Mane had just played on stage – that was a lie. I was there at noon to 10:30pm, and he did not perform on stage. The promoter advertised cash awards, but dipped out with the entry money before the end of the show, and suddenly wasn’t reachable by phone. One of his guys told the people owed money that checks would get mailed out later – no date could be given though on when. This isn’t heresay – I was there and was told that to my face specifically by the people working for him.
There were under 40 cars there, and three local groups – Kaizen, ImportAtlanta, and Zen Motors made up 90% of that. I was there with a car, and never saw any judges come through, and I guarantee that there judges(s) does not have any clue about what customizations a car has – and I can easily prove that. I highly suggest that everyone avoid any future events that are put on with this promoter. To me, it was a waste of time and money.
Since there were so few cars there, I took extra photos. It took a while to process them, as the lighting in the place is really poor and inconsistent.
Here are some of the photos, the rest can be seen on my Flickr page for this set.
