918 Spyder, XJ220, Shelby, and much more – and with great weather. Tons of people came out for the March show, which was the first C&E of 2015 (Feb was cancelled due to bad weather).
The show started off pretty normally. There were quite a few cars already in position by 7:45am, when the GA 400 group arrived and started taking their spots. By 8:15, the spectators started arriving in droves, and it quickly became hard to get any decent shots, just due to the sheer number of people there.
Sometime later, there was a big group moving quickly to the bottom of the lot – because a Porsche 918 Spyder had just arrived. The crowd stood around looking at it, obviously surprised. It was definitely the star of the show this time.
Also arriving a little later in the morning was the gentleman with the Jaguar XJ220. It is quite rare, and he only has brought it to a couple of the C&O/C&E events. For those that recognize what it is, it is always a crowd-pleaser.
A couple of other cars to note were the twin turbo Lamborghini and the Shelby.
The Lamborghini has been there several times, and probably was the most powerful car there that day.
The Shelby was signed by Carroll Shelby and was certainly quite unique.
Every month there is something unique and new at this event. Who knows what it will be next month? You will have to attend to find out.
