At the end of the year, I review the automotive photos that I have taken during the year at various events, and select the ones that I think are my top car photos. This year, I decided to select what I consider the top 10 automotive photos that I took, and show a few more that could have made it, but I decided that they weren’t in the very top 10.
Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst – Henri Cartier-Bresson
While he was referring to film photos that each took serious contemplation before taking them, I published close to 10,000 car photos from events this year. That’s not family photos, or non-automotive photos – that just photos from car events. Most of the time, I was thinking about where the light was falling on the subject, where the best angle was, etc. – always trying to improve a little bit. Of course, that generated a LOT of photos through the year and gave me a lot of them to sift through to find this selection of only 10.
My only real purpose for doing it is so that I can review my photos the next year and see how I have improved, and where I still need to improve. This post is one of the ways that I review and see what I’ve learned over time. By comparing my photos of the present to the photos that I have taken in the past, I can see where I have improved, and where I need to focus my efforts to improve. Next year, I will compare my top 10 list and see what differences I find.
Below are what I consider to be the Top 10 of 2013 (in no particular order), plus a few more that probably could have made the cut at a different time.

Others That Did Not Make The Top 10
There were several that I like but I decided that they couldn’t make the Top 10, so I left a couple of them below.
