Caffeine and Octane – June 2013
After days of perfect weather, when we got to Caffeine and Octane time, the weather started to turn for the worse – again. These year has not been kind to the event. We woke up to the threat of rain again, and the skies were cloudy. I had planned to ride my bike up to C&O, but had to take the car again just to be safe. Since I was driving, I threw some extra gear in the car – and that turned out to be a wise choice.
I got there just before 6:30am, so while the parking lot was still filling up, I was able to make use of my 85mm f/1.8 for awhile until the crowds were just to much in the way, then I switched over to the 28mm f/1.8 for awhile, and when it really got packed, I swapped over to the 17-35mm f/2.8-4. Once the models arrived, I popped out the 24-120mm f/4 VR, and the SB-800’s.
Below is a small sample of the almost 300 photos from yesterday. You can see the rest in several places that I have posted them.
